Intro to Darkroom Practice £195
This is aimed at the photographer who is shooting film and now wants to discover the magic of working in a darkroom.
The one-day/two evening course will show you how to process a roll of film that you have previously shot. From these negatives you will discover how to produce a contact print and from this select some images to produce a few glorious black & white prints.
The course includes all paper and chemicals. Participants will need to have shot a roll of 35mm or 120 film that they bring along on the day.
This is the perfect introduction for the analogue photographer looking to acquire darkroom skills that will subsequently enable them to work independently with our equipment. Completion of this course counts as an Induction, which is mandatory for anyone planning to become a darkroom member.

film processing £95
During this 3.5 hour workshop you will learn how to load film into a processing tank and mix chemicals to develop your film. When it is washed and dry you will be shown how to produce a contact sheet from the negatives.
This workshop is ideal for analogue photographers just starting to shoot film, as well as those looking to refresh their film-processing skills. You will quickly earn back the cost of this course by no longer needing labs to process your film!
All materials included.
Just bring along a roll of undeveloped 35mm or 120 black and white film you have previously shot.
DARKROOM printing TASTER £95
You will bring a roll of 35mm or 120 black and white film that you have already shot and had processed (you can send it to us in advance and we'll process it ready for the session at a very competitive price). You will be shown how to produce a contact sheet, from which you will be able to select which images you want to make some prints of to take home.

INTRO TO CAMERA AND DARKROOM £325
A practical course that will teach you the principle functions of a 35mm Single Lens Reflex(SLR) or medium format camera and basic darkroom skills.
Over two days you will be introduced to the mechanisms that control exposure, focus and other functionality of your camera and shown how to load and unload film safely. Having shot a roll of film, you will learn how to process it and produce a contact sheet of the negatives. From this you will choose images to create beautiful black and white prints in the darkroom.
The course fee includes film, paper and chemicals, but participants will need their own 35mm SLR or 120 camera.
This course would be the perfect introduction for the photographer looking to acquire all the skills needed to subsequently work independently in our darkroom. Completion of this course will count as your Induction, which is mandatory for anyone planning to become a darkroom member.
How your camera works £95
If you are struggling to get to grips with your camera and cannot understand the manual, and You Tube tutorials are not helping, then this workshop is for you.
In three hours you will be given an in-depth and detailed overview of the principles underpinning the workings of cameras. You will learn how to focus accurately and understand and control the exposure control mechanisms. How you control and manipulate depth of field, motion and panning will also be explained.
We will ensure that you understand the particular configuration of controls on your own camera, so that you leave with a new-found confidence in using it.
